The Andrews Sisters Tribute & The Miller Horns

05. June 2026

Memories, Memories, World War 2, the Andrew Sisters, The Glenn Miller Army Band, if you were young enough to remember. What a period to grow up!

On Sunday 17th May we had an afternoon of memories with our own Andrew Sisters (Cheryn, Claire, Jodie), the Miller Horns (Eddie, Sax Clarinet), Tina (Electric bass), Ollie (Keyboards), Darryl (Drums), Rob (Trombone), and Dean (Trumpet). The ladies wore original USA ladies Army uniforms. We saluted Rob I think a USA Captain!! So many wartime songs. “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, “Beat Me Daddy 8 to the Bar”, “Apple Blossom Time”, “Sway With Me” (Anytime). Then to finish Set 1, “I'll Be Seeing You” and “We'll Meet Again”. Not a dry eye in the house!!.

Set 2 opened with a Miller selection.  Then the Sisters returned dressed in the 50/60's fashion and serenaded with “Cest Sera Sera”. How about Ray Charles “Hit the Road Jack”, a show stopper!!. Yeah! We will board the “Chatanooga Cho Choo” and have dinner  at Carolina and pass through TUXEDO JUNCTION about a quarter to 9. I am sure our sound man Ben gave a little train hoot. The afternoon could not end so soon, so the Boogie Bugle Boy put us all, particularly our lively dance group, “IN THE MOOD” to continue with our memories.

Thank you ANDREW SISTERS and MILLER HORNS!
