REVIEW - TROMBONE KELLIE GANG

The TKG shook the Powerboat Club to the foundations with an opening “I Ain't Got You”. Well, they got the audience into it. A “Morning Train” vocal from Kellie led into the Fats Waller's “Ain't Misbehavin'” and “Honeysuckle Rose”. A very nice slow blues was sung and a lovely guitar from Scrubby. A master of blues vocals and guitar!! An old favourite “Goodie Goodie” gave Kellie to extend her vocals and gutsy trombone. Aretha Franklin, BB King, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles were all featured by the Gang. These guys are great pros. Kellie's favourite” All of Me” was sung and played with empathy. Vonnie on Sax played some great solos, particularly her solos on the nice tune “Lonely Avenue”. Justin on bass steadies the group and sings a mean song. The Gang covers all styles. Blues, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, and even a little Ellington. A big thanks to Ben our sound man, always in control.
A great afternoon from TROMBONE KELLIE GANG.
